This is a unique 2,000+ acre project planned to be rooted in conservation, designed with nature as the focal point of the development and where the ecology of the site is respected. Existing native vegetation will remain and be preserved to the extent possible. The project entails a request for a Conditional Use, to permit a private golf course and sporting club with up to 300 members. The Collier Rod and Gun Club at the Preserve project will offer an 18-hole and 9-hole golf course, several recreational amenities and up to 16 member-only rental cabins. The golf course/sporting club is adjacent to, but not part of, the Collier Rod and Gun Club at the Preserve SRA, a Compact Rural Development, located just north/northeast of the subject conditional use property, consisting of ±259.6-acres, 175 single-family seasonal residences, and commercial amenities. Peninsula Engineer is responsible for all planning, environmental, and engineering design services.
